I'm currently looking for locations to farm several materials such as wood planks, plant fibers, tanned hide, glittering dust, chitin fragments, and scales. If anyone has any locations where i could farm these please post here!

Wooden planks: troll cave outside droknars; the raven staffs can be salvaged to wood
Tanned hide: wardens in kurzick area
Dust: smites in uw i think
Chitin fragments; Devourer can drop them (in ascalon), but don't know in large numbers ^^
scales: dropped by inferno imps in kryta

Thanks! hehe quick response, now i just need location for plant fibers. I have been trying the 3 groups of dragon mosses outside st. anjeka's shrine, but im getting more gold items than i am dragon roots/plant fibers. Any suggestions for plant fibers?

Tanned hide( lots) and dust (not much) u get from wardens =]

Bones, and Dust you can get from the Undead in Kryta.

When I did 55 SJ farming in HM there, I would get stacks and stacks of bones just after a few runs.

I know you can get granite and Glittering Dust (for Powerstone of Courage) together from Stone Scale Kirins outside of Maatu Keep.

For plant fibres I just exit ToA and kill those 8 mobs out there standing in that circle. Their name escape me atm.

About dust...try out the temple of flames (though I dunno if you can solo farm that...I think you can 3 man farm that, oh well...); undeads drops large amounts of dust (35 Dust!) so you can get easy dust without having to deal with the crap 3 Dust that Smites drops. Agree with wood, though it's boring.

For plant fibers uhm...there was a place where I did drop a lot of fibers, but I don't really remember where. Cannot be helped :s

Best place for Chitin I'd say is outside Ran Musu Gardens (Shing Jea Island) in Hard Mode. There is an absolute TON of Mantids out there, and an SV 55 Mo/N or N/Mo should be able to handle them without much trouble.
It can take a while... but they're all rather prone to dropping Chitin.

Plant Fibres are rare... but I'd personally recommend the plant groups in Echovald Forest.... or just outside in Maatu Keep. They drop a lot of varied stuff.

Feathers I get almost exclusively from Tengu of various kinds across all campaigns. Hard Mode Jaya Bluffs (Shing Jea) has the proverbial ton of Sensali.

Dust comes from just about everything under the sun.

Bones are easily aquired in vast numbers from the Undead in the Desolation (Judundu rampage much). You could do Hard Mode Gates of Kryta in Tyria too if you prefer.

Wood and Iron I get from highly salvagable weapons and the like... though ordinary ones will do. Almost every weapon out there salvages into Wood or Iron.

Cloth and Hide are commonly found salvaging monster armour... the sorts that would normally have runes on if coloured. Hide can also be aquired from Wardens in Echovald and Cloth from just about anything else.

Granite comes from elementals of the earth variety... be those Nightfall-style ones or Tyria-style ones.

Scales are another awkward one... and I know Naga in the Jade Sea drop them... but I'm not sure what else might.

I'm sure I've forgotten some of the common ones.... but... well... nobody is perfect.
And if it gets really bad, you could just save up the cash from farming other stuff and buy whatever materials you still need.

Dust - Djinns in Hidden City of Ahdashim, just clear the first chamber, they drop ~30-35 dust when they drop, and you normally get ~60-80 dust per run.
Cloth - Corsairs in Moddok Crevice, ~25-50 per run
Scales - Hydras in the crystal desert, their Dessicated Hydra Claws salvage ~6-7 scales each. Also Ice Imps in Ice Floe are nice.

Well spiritwood planks drop from Dragon Moss and such in echovald forest.
Not sure if u can farm them.

And what build do you recommend on that? I tried the Dervish 130hp build, still wasn't effective.

For plant fibres you may also want to check the oakhearts and spined aloes on Watchtower Coast.

Before HM i gathered 2 stacks of spiritwood from undergrowths outside maatu keep. If you find adequate build, you can farm it there. All dragon plants, if the drop, drop 5-6 spiritwood planks

Just use Rt/Mo 330 hp Spirit Bonder + VwK and you can farm almost every mob in Pongmei Valley (except for Brotherhood Mesmers - they have nasty interrupts). Including Dragon Moss.
